Chippewa Falls (WQOW) – After both teams got a loss on the first day of the Legion State Tournament, Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls had an elimination match up on Saturday.

Chippewa walked away with a victory the last time these two teams took the field, and Pizza Hut made sure their presence was felt early. They were already up in the second when Gabe O’Brien put one in the gap in right center with the bases loaded, sending everyone home and giving Eau Claire a 4-0 lead. It was still in the second inning when Cooper Kapanke hit a 2- run homer to the left side, and put Pizza Hut up 8. Chippewa would get on the board in the bottom of the second on Riley Freid’s long ball, but that was all the offense they could whip up. Eau Claire had a 9 run seventh inning and they took the game 19-1. Pizza Hut’s next game is Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
