Eau Claire (WQOW) — The Eau Claire Cavaliers shut-out the Westmont Red Sox Wednesday night at Carson Park 3-0, as Eau Claire North grad Ryan Venne tossed a no-hitter.

The game was scoreless until the second inning, when Eau Claire’s Jaelin Williams hit a sacrifice fly to center scoring Ryan Gerber. After the Cavaliers scored on a double steal, they added to their lead in the fourth with a Kole Lekvin RBI single bringing it to 3-0. Venne finished the game with eight strikeouts for the Cavaliers, as they completed the shut-out in the seventh inning.

Eau Claire returns to action on Sunday in Osseo, as they have a big doubleheader with the South Division leading Merchants at 12:30 p.m.
