Chippewa Falls (WQOW) — Chippewa Falls Post 77 scored four runs in the first two innings, as they won a rain-shortened game over Eau Claire Post 53 Tuesday night 4-2 at Casper Park.

Chippewa Falls put two runners on in the bottom of the first for Dane Weiland, who hit a sacrifice fly bringing home Matt Pomietlo. Then later in the inning, Nate Hayes found a gap in right-center scoring both Luke Franz and Luke Schemenauer for a 3-0 advantage. Post 77 then loaded the bases in the second, as Schemenauer watched ball four and Pomietlo extended the lead to 4.

However, Eau Claire finally got on the board in the third inning. Logan Rasmussen drove a ball to the fence in left, scoring Mason Bauer for their first run of the game. But then the throw to third got away, allowing Rasmussen to score making it 4-2. The rain though came as the game went into a delay, and then eventually got cancelled.

Chippewa Falls returns to action this Friday for the Badger Classic, while Eau Claire is off until Monday with a game at River Falls.
