5) Eleva-Strum (5-3) vs. 4) De Soto (6-3)
Friday at 7 P.M.

The Cardinals have won four of five games coming into the playoffs, including an impressive 36-12 victory against C-FC in week nine. Senior quarterback Ryan Johnson leads the way for the Cardinals, accounting for 21 of the team’s touchdowns, while junior Andrew Schoen (751 yards, 7 TD) is also someone to watch out for. Eleva-Strum has outscored their opponents this season 258-139, averaging 32.2 points/game on offense.

De Soto finished third in the Ridge & Valley conference, and loss a tough one week nine to Ithaca 25-22. The Pirates are led with a balanced attack in the backfield, including junior running back Trevor Rebhahn (646 yards, 5 TD), senior running back Brock Venner (535 yards, 5 TD), and junior quarterback Kaden Pedretti (263 yards, 5 TD). They have outscored their opponents this season 256-103, averaging 28.4 points/game on offense.

7) Hurley (5-4) vs. 2) Loyal (7-2)
Friday at 6 P.M.

After winning five games in a row, Hurley has dropped two straight heading into the postseason. Senior running back Andy Hamlin (1,462 yards, 19 TD) leads the offense in the backfield, while sophomore running back Kodey Henning (522 yards, 6 TD) has proved he’s dangerous as well. Hurley has outscored their opponents this season 323-234 this season, averaging 35.9 points/game offensively.

Loyal finished second in the Cloverwood conference, after losing to Abbotsford week nine 49-22. The Greyhounds are led on offense by Clayton Rarick and Stephen Buchanan in the backfield, who have combined for over 15 touchdowns. They have outscored their opponents this season 270-143, averaging 30 points/game on offense.

8) Greenwood (4-5) vs. 1) Edgar (9-0)
Friday at 7 P.M.

Greenwood finished fifth in the Cloverbelt, and lost to Gilman week nine 41-0 to finish the regular season 4-5 overall. Junior running back Wyatt Artac (833 yards, 4 TD) is the top rusher out of the backfield, while also being a key piece on the defense with 64 tackles and four sacks. Greenwood has been outscored by their opponents this season 256-150, averaging 16.7 points/game on offense.

Edgar captured the Marawood conference championship once again, with a 26-20 win over Stratford in week nine. Senior quarterback Karson Butt (932 yards, 10 TD) leads the offense, while Will Raatz and Kyle Brewster are dangerous out of the backfield combining for near 1,000 yards and 18 touchdowns. Edgar’s defense has only given up 34 total points in the regular season, and average 41.4 points/game offensively.

5) Turtle Lake (5-4) vs. 4) Clear Lake (6-3)
Friday at 7 P.M.

Turtle Lake finished tied in second for the Lakeland-South conference, but are coming into the playoffs with momentum after a 40-28 win over Elmwood/Plum City in week nine. Junior running back Lucas Torgerson (946 yards, 9 TD) is their main threat in the backfield, while junior linebacker Trent Keppen (129 tackles, 3 FF) and senior linebacker Caleb Heffner (118 tackles, 2 FF) help anchor the defense. Turtle Lake has been outscored by their opponents this season 230-14, averaging 23.8 points/game offensively.

Clear Lake finished first in the Lakeland-South conference, and beat Turtle Lake 30-12 in week eight. Junior running back Ivan Ruble (712 yards, 6 TD) is a threat out of the backfield, while senior linebacker Korey Catts (87 tackles, 2 sacks) helps anchor the Clear Lake defense. They have outscored their opponents this season 194-113, averaging 21.6 points/game on offense.

6) Elmwood/Plum City (5-4) vs. 3) Gilman (7-2)
Friday at 7 P.M.

Elmwood/Plum City tied for second in the Lakeland-South Conference, and come into the playoffs losing two games in a row. Senior running back Nic Forster (1,046 yards, 13 TD) and junior running back Dalton Binkowski (706 yards, 10 TD) pace the offense from the backfield, while Binkowski (130 tackles, 1 INT) is also a key piece for the defense. They have outscored their opponents this season 305-264, averaging 33.9 points/game on offense.

Gilman finished third in the Cloverwood, and are heading into the playoffs with an impressive 41-0 shut-out week nine against Greenwood. They have a three-headed monster in the ground game with Maverick Birkenholz, Kellvin Krizan, and Gabe Gunderson combining for over 24 touchdowns. Gilman has outscored their opponents this season 340-70, averaging 37.8 points/game offensively, while only giving up 7.7 points/game on defense.
