McDonell Central names Schilling new boys basketball coach

Chippewa Falls (WQOW) — According to a press release on Thursday from McDonell Schools, Athletic Director Eric Gardow has named Adam Schilling as the Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach of the McDonell Central Macks.

“Adam brings a level of commitment to the game of basketball,” says Gardow, in the press release. “And years of learning from great coaches at our school and from our area.”

Schilling has been involved with the McDonell Central girls basketball program since 2015. He has assisted varsity, reaching the best records in school history and sectional semi-finals in the past two seasons. Previously, Schilling assisted the Regis boys basketball program as the head coach of the freshman team, and also helping out with varsity.

“I am excited to go to work with our student-athletes toward our goal of developing a program based on team-work, communication, integrity, and a consistent work ethic,” says Schilling, in the press release. “I am humbled to be able to lead a boys basketball program that has had so much success and tradition. Coach Sherbinow and his coaching staff set a high standard that I will work hard to maintain.”

McDonell Central finished second in division five in 2017-2018, losing to Bangor in the state championship game.
