Blugold’s Goetsch earns weekly WIAC honors

Eau Claire (WQOW) — UW-Eau Claire sophomore kicker/punter specialist Brad Goetsch was named the WIAC special teams athlete of the week Tuesday.

Goetsch recorded three field goals (35, 22, 22) in the Blugolds 30-23 double overtime win Saturday at Carson Park against St. Norbert College, to help improve the team to 2-0 for the first time since 2010. He also connected on all three PAT’s, and tallied nine punts for 309 yards total with a net average of 34.3.

UW-Eau Claire is on bye this week, but will return to action Saturday, September 22nd on the road at the University of St. Thomas.
