Eau Claire (WQOW) — The Express dropped their season finale Sunday afternoon at Carson Park, falling to St. Cloud 9-2.
The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth, when the Rox got on the board from a Ryland Kerr sacrifice fly scoring Michael Borst. But the big damage was done in the fifth inning, when St. Cloud crossed home six times to make the score 7-0. After they added two more in the top of the sixth to extend the lead, the Express finally got on the board in the bottom half. An Adam LaRock two RBI single scored Spencer Myers and Chase Scharnek to cut the deficit to 9-2.
Austin George suffered the loss on the mound for Eau Claire, allowing seven runs (one earned) on seven hits in four and two-thirds innings.
The Express finish the season 28-43-1 overall in the season.
