NWL Saturday: Express 8, Rox 2

Eau Claire (WQOW) — The Express snapped a three-game losing streak Saturday night, topping St. Cloud 8-2 at Carson Park.

Eau Claire wasted no time in the first inning. Andrew Pratt advanced to first off of an error, scoring Spencer Myers to get on the board. Then a couple batters later, Nick Brueser doubled in Adam LaRock and Pratt to give the Express a 3-0 lead. They then extended that lead in the second inning, after a Ryan Bishop sacrifice fly scored Mitchell Buban and a Brueser sacrifice fly brought in Myers making it 5-0. After the Rox got on the board in the third from a solo homerun, Eau Claire answered with a pair of runs in the bottom half including a Scott Finberg RBI double and LaRock sac fly. Eau Claire would add one more run in the seventh, when Bishop hit a sac fly to center scoring Buban.

Rece Dietrich picked up the win for the Express on the mound, only allowing two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts in seven innings.

Eau Claire will wrap-up the weekend series Sunday afternoon at Carson Park against St. Cloud. The first pitch is scheduled for 2:05 P.M.
