Napoleon, Ohio (WQOW) — Eau Claire’s Draeson Marcoux is hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, forcing in Zac Stange with the winning run, as Post 52 eliminates Terre Haute (IN), 7-6, at the Great Lakes Regional.
Stange started the rally with a one-out single, then moved to second on Tanner Halverson’s single. An infield error allowed Ryan Venne to reach, loading the bases and setting up Marcoux’s game-winning RBI.
Each team had eleven hits. Stange was 3-3 with an RBI, Halverson had three hits in four plate appearances, while Jaxon Kostka knocked in a pair of runs on a 2-3 day at bat. Ryan Venne and Ethan Kjellberg had Eau Claire’s other RBI.
Eau Claire is one of four teams still alive at the tourney, and will face unbeaten Midland (MI), Saturday, at 5:00 P.M., central time. The 11:00 A.M. game will pit Sheboygan vs. Danville (IL), with the loser being eliminated.
