Eau Claire ready for American Legion Baseball Great Lakes Regional

Eau Claire (WQOW) — The Eau Claire American Legion baseball team departed for Napoleon, Ohio, Tuesday morning, and the Great Lakes Regional tournament.   The team held a final practice in Eau Claire Monday night.

This is Eau Claire’s second straight trip to the Great Lakes Regional.  Last year, Eau Claire went 1-2 and was knocked out before the championship round, but that experience should help this time around.

"The people who have been down there, I think that experience will rub off on everybody else," says second baseman Mitchell Froehlich, "and hopefully it’ll take all the jitters out for everybody, and everybody’s going to be more comfortable together."

"Knowing just kind of how the day-to-day planning out there works is going to be huge for us," says Eau Claire pitcher Austin Selz, "just  getting into a rhythm and going out there and just being able to play ball."

Eau Claire opens the tourney by facing Midland (MI), Wednesday, at 10:00 A.M. (CDT).
