NWL Sunday: Huskies 6, Express 2

Duluth (WQOW) — The Express dropped their weekend series finale in Duluth, losing to the Huskies 6-2 Sunday afternoon.

Trailing 1-0 in the top of the third inning, Eau Claire took the lead with a pair of runs. Nick Brueser singled in Spencer Myers and Adam LaRock to give the Express a 2-1 advantage. The Huskies though tied the game in the bottom half, and then in the fifth took the lead 3-2 from a Carlos Moseley RBI. Then in the bottom of the sixth, Eau Claire opened up their lead scoring three runs including a pair of RBI singles from Tony Monroy and Augie Isaacson.

Isaiah Davis suffered the loss for the Express on the mound in relief, surrendering four runs with two earned on four hits in two innings. Brueser led Eau Claire at the plate, going 2-4 on the afternoon with the two RBI’s.

Eau Claire is back in action Monday night at Carson Park with a doubleheader against Willmar. The first game is scheduled for 5:05 P.M. and the second right after around 7:30 P.M.
