NWL Thursday: Express 7, Border Cats 6

Thunder Bay (WQOW) — The Express snapped a two-game losing streak Thursday night in Thunder Bay, beating the Border Cats 7-6.

The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth, when Eau Claire scored a pair of runs with an RBI single by Adam LaRock and a wild pitch scoring Nick Brueser. The Express then extended the lead in the fifth inning, as an Andrew Pratt single scored Mitchell Buban followed by a Brueser sacrifice fly to make it 4-0. After Thunder Bay tied the game in the bottom of the fifth, the Express retook the lead in the seventh from a Brueser RBI single and David LaManna RBI double. The Border Cats once again answered in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game, but in the eighth a Pratt sacrifice fly scoring Buban would be the winning run of the game.
