NWL Tuesday: Huskies 8, Express 2

Eau Claire (WQOW) — The Express had its four-game winning streak snapped, as Duluth scored five times in the last three innings to pull away for an 8-2 win Tuesday night at Eau Claire’s Carson Park.

After the Huskies opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the third inning, the Express rallied in the bottom half of the frame.  Jimmy Gloweneke’s RBI  double plated Spencer Myers with Eau Claire’s first run.  Glowenke then scored on Scott Ogrin’s bloop single to center field.  The Express was held scoreless after that, despite having eight hits on the evening.

Duluth pounded out thirteen hits off of four Eau Claire pitchers, who also combined to issue seven walks.   The Express defense also committed five errors, as three of the Huskies runs were unearned.

Eau Claire will play a day-night doubleheader at St. Cloud, Wednesday.
