NWL Sunday: Express 5 Honkers 2

Rochester (WQOW) — The Eau Claire Express stayed hot and won their third straight game Sunday afternoon against the Rochester Honkers 5-2.

Trailing by 2 in the fifth inning, Eau Claire’s David LaManna grounded into a fielder’s choice to plate their first run of the game. The Express added two more runs in the eighth, including Andrew Pratt stealing home on a double steal. Then in the ninth, Scott Ogrin hit his third homerun in as many days with a two run shot to put the Express up 5-2.

Tyler Strzelcyk came in to pitch in relief, only allowing one hit and received the win. Phillip Sikes once again earned the save, striking out three Rochester hitters.

Eau Claire will head to Duluth Monday, and return to Carson Park Tuesday night also against Duluth.
