NWL Monday: Express 8 Huskies 4

Duluth (WQOW) — The Eau Claire Express remain one of the hottest teams in the league, beating the Duluth Huskies 8-4 Monday night for their fourth straight victory.

The Express got on the board in the first inning. Nick Brueser knocked in Spencer Myers off an error, followed by a two RBI triple by Drew Hmielewski to make it 3-0. Then the Express broke the game open in the fifth, scoring two runs off of errors and then an RBI single from Hmielewski. Noah Sifrit then added some insurance in the seventh, scoring Brueser off of a single.

Justin Slaten earned the win for the Express on the mound, going six innings only allowing two hits, one run, and five strikeouts.

The Express return to Carson Park tomorrow night, as they finish their home and home series with Duluth.
