NWL Friday: Express 4, Moondogs 2

Mankato (WQOW) — The Eau Claire Express bounced back from Thursday’s loss, with a 4-2 win over the Mankato Moondogs at Franklin Rogers Park.

Scoreless in the second, the Express gets on the board as Phillip Sikes singles in Nick Brueser for the first run of the game. Then next inning after the Express went up 2-0, Scott Ogrin hits his second homerun of the season to extend the lead to three. After the Moondogs cut the deficit to one, in the eighth a Devon Garcia single scores Phillip Sikes from second.

Starter Justin Revels earns the win for Eau Claire, only allowing two runs and four hits. Zach Grech and Phillip Sikes combined to go scoreless in relief, with Sikes picking up the save.

The Express now open a home and home series with the Rochester Honkers, with tomorrow night at Carson Park and Sunday at Mayo Field.
