NWL Wednesday: Express 4, Bucks 3

Eau Claire (WQOW) — The Eau Claire Express wins its third straight game by rallying for a 4-3 win at Carson Park over the Waterloo Bucks.

Training 3-0 after being blanked for four innings, the Express gets on the board in the fifth inning as Eau Claire native Adam LaRock singles in Noah Sifrit to cut the margin to two.    In the sixth, Scott Ogrin scores Eau Claire’s second run on a Drew Hmielewski fielder’s choice. Then in the seventh, the Express takes the lead for the first time as Cody Milligan’s single plates LaRock and Spencer Myers.

Reliever Carson Rudd earns the win for Eau Claire by pitching a scoreless seventh inning.  Tyler Strzelczyk works a scoreless eighth, with Phillip Sikes picking up the save by striking out three hitters in the ninth.

The Express, after winning four of its last five, now heads on the road for the next four games.  Eau Claire will visit Mankato, for games Thursday and Friday.
