WIAA Division 3 State Semifinals

TOMAHAWK   2         F-8 INNINGS

WIAA Division 5 State Championship Preview: For the second straight season, the McDonell Central softball team has returned to the Division 5 State Title game, and once again, the Macks have impressed on both sides of the ball in the semifinals.

McDonell got timely hits up and down the lineup, as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 5th inning. That cushion allowed them to weather a late run from Assumption, and earn a chance to defend their championship – another sign of how experienced, poised, and dangerous this Macks team is.

"I told them today, when we have all of our batters flashing their averages on the screen, none of you should be embarrassed," head coach Chelsea Seckora says, "We’ve got 9 hitters with great averages because they can hit. These girls are living in the moment and enjoying playing the game of softball. An athlete’s career, even at the collegiate level only lasts so long, so our girls are soaking up every minute, enjoying every second of the game, enjoying every pitch, that’s what we’re down here to do."

The Macks will meet Oakfield in the Division 5 Title game Saturday morning at 8 A.M.
