Evers, Barnes mock Walker’s flights during livestream

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Tony Evers and Mandela Barnes have livestreamed their drive between Appleton and Green Bay as part of a campaign gimmick to mock Gov. Scott Walker for taking the state airplane for the 24-mile trip.

With Evers behind the wheel, and other Democratic candidates calling in, they jokingly referred to the 45-minute livestream as the “Tony and Mandela Show.”

U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan, attorney general candidate Josh Kaul and state treasurer candidate Sarah Godlewski all called in.

In between talking about the Brewers playoff run and Barnes’ experience running two marathons, they took shots at Walker and the condition of Wisconsin’s roads. They joked about dodging “Scott-holes,” a name Democrats have given to tie Walker to potholes.

Evers has promised if elected governor he will reduce the use of the state airplane.
