GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes in the second half after returning from a knee injury, and the Green Bay Packers overcame a 20-point deficit for a thrilling 24-23 win over the Chicago Bears. Rodgers connected with receiver Randall Cobb for a catch-and-run through the Bears secondary for a 75-yard touchdown pass and the go-ahead score with 2:13 left.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Khalil Mack got off to a rousing start with the Chicago Bears against the Green Bay Packers, though the ending had a familiar feel for his new team. Make it five straight losses for the Bears to their NFC North archrivals following a 24-23 defeat to Green Bay. Mack did his part with an interception return for a touchdown and a strip-sack for another turnover. He was acquired by Chicago in blockbuster deal last week with the Oakland Raiders.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Jonathan Schoop hit a grand slam after Ryan Braun was hit by a pitch in a tense sixth inning, and Milwaukee beat the San Francisco Giants 6-3, completing a series sweep and preserving the Brewers’ lead in the NL wild-card race. Madison Bumgarner hit Braun with his third of three consecutive pitches inside to load the bases with two outs. Schoop then drove a 2-1 pitch from Bumgarner over the wall in left to make it 5-2.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor is determined to take better care of the ball after fumbling for the second straight game. The fumbles are the only blemishes in what has so far been a prolific start to the season. Coach Paul Chryst likes how Taylor responds to mistakes. After fumbling the second quarter against New Mexico, Taylor finished with career highs of 253 yards on 33 carries. He matched a career high with three touchdown runs.
