Black River Falls man allegedly strangles, sexually assaults woman

Jackson County (WQOW) –  A Black River Falls man is facing more than 60 years in prison after a woman told police he sexually assaulted her.

Charles Stubrud is charged with five felonies – including 2nd degree sexual assault and substantial battery.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim told police Stubrud attacked her in his home, which is where he allegedly strangled her and sexually assaulted her.

She told police she lost consciousness during the assault and believed she was going to die.

Monday, a $2,500 cash bond was set for Stubrud. He is due back in court at the end of the month.
