Mondovi (WQOW) – Mondovi is in the process of developing a new wastewater treatment plant, thanks to more than $6 million in grants.

Two grants were given to the city for the construction of the new facility, new water and wastewater mainlines and an access road to the treatment plant which will run right off of Highway 37.

The remaining projected costs of construction and development will be covered by a loan through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Officials say the grants will not only keep the water clean but cut costs. They expect the average consumer to see their bill cut by one-third.
