Eau Claire (WQOW) — The circus is in town. Unlike the traditional big top show, this show includes a performance on water.

Cirque Italia is the very first United States traveling water circus and all of the are acts tied to Italy. Later this week, they’ll be holding performances at the Oakwood Mall parking lot in Eau Claire.

Samantha Kulinski, one of the performers, said it is challenging to put together a stage, a tent and a 30,000 gallon pool. However, the performers believe the effect is worth it.

Kulinski said performing in the water is fun, but makes each stunt a little more challenging.

“My act involves swinging through the water while doing aerial acrobatics about 30 feet in the air. So it’s very fun, it’s a little dangerous and really exciting. We like to keep people on the tip of their toes,” Kulinski said.

The circus will performing Thursday through Sunday.

The ticket office is open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. near J.C. Penny at Oakwood Mall.

You can also purchase tickets online.

If you can’t make it to the circus this week, you can still make it to one of their shows while they’re in Wisconsin.
