Eau Claire County (WQOW) – The Eau Claire County Board has a sudden opening after a supervisor submitted his resignation.

Brandon Buchanan announced he is stepping down from the board after deciding to move away from Eau Claire.

Now, the board will begin the process of filling his seat.

Since the next election is not until April, the board chair will seek applicants to fill in for the rest of the term.

Once a nominee is chosen, they will need confirmation from the full board.

Once an announcement for applicants is posted, Supervisor Colleen Bates said it takes roughly 30 days for the seat to be filled.
