Republican teases likely run for Duffy’s seat

(WQOW) – A Republican Wisconsin Senator appears to be entering the race to replace Sean Duffy.

Duffy is resigning in two weeks to spend more time with his family after it was discovered his child due in October has some health complications.

Monday, Republican Tom Tiffany’s (R-Hazelhurst) office said he would make a “special announcement” about the 7th District race on Tuesday – including seven stops across the district Tuesday and Wednesday.

He is scheduled to be in Cadott on Tuesday.

News 18 has spoken with a number of other politicians mulling a run at the seat including Republican Romaine Quinn and Democrat Pat Kreitlow.

Governor Tony Evers has yet to announce the dates for the special election.
