Barron County (WQOW) – A Barron County man faces up to 60 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a child.

Donaven Sprague was slated to go to trial on Wednesday. Instead, he pleaded guilty in Barron County Court on Tuesday to a count of repeated sexual assault of a child.

According to the criminal complaint, the then-12-year-old victim told police the assaults started when she was nine years old.

When questioned by police, Sprague admitted to the assaults but told police actual intercourse did not occur until she was 11 years old.
