Hayward School District employee on leave after drug charges

Hayward (KBJR) — The Hayward Community School District says an employee is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the district’s investigation into criminal charges filed against Guy Mittlestadt.

Mittlestadt, 46, was arrested earlier this month and charged with five felony counts of manufacturing and delivering cocaine.

According to the district, they became aware of the charges on August 8.

Mittlestadt posted a cash bond of $1,000 on August 16, and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on September 18.

The Sawyer County Record reports Mittlestadt is a long-time kindergarten teacher in the district.
