Eau Claire (WQOW) – A unique sporting event came to Eau Claire this weekend, featuring some four-legged friends.

The Dock Dogs competition, hosted at Scheels, has canines jump from a platform and into a pool with a goal of achieving the farthest leap.

Some dogs and owners travel all over the country to compete professionally while others just partake in the event for some extra fun and exercise for their pups.

The competition welcomes all sizes, breeds, and levels of experience.

Scheels event coordinator Elizabeth Fenske says the event provides a great time to spend with family.

“It’s been a great turn out. We couldn’t ask for better weather either. I mean, it was a little shaky earlier this week but it has been a great weather turn out, we have lots of hunters out here and families out here enjoying the day,” said Fenske.

If you think your Fido has got what it takes to make that leap you can still sign up to compete Sunday. It costs $30 to register.
