Chippewa Falls (WQOW) – A woman missing in Chippewa Falls has been found dead.

Chippewa Falls Police Chief Matt Kelm said Donna Karlen was found dead on Friday afternoon near the Lake Wissota dam.

Kelm said two fisherman saw a person matching Karlen’s description. First responders went that way and located Karlen’s body along the north bank of the river. She was found on the ground near the water.

She had been missing since Thursday morning. Crews spent the past 2 days searching in and around the Chippewa River and Highway 178. That’s just downstream from the Lake Wissota Dam and not too far from HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital.

No foul play is suspected.

More information will be released at a later time by Chippewa Falls police.
