(WQOW) – An Eau Claire man will spend time in a federal prison on a methamphetamine charge.

Manuel Small was arrested in Eau Claire in July of last year after police searched his hotel room and found more than 50 grams of meth packaged to be sold.

In April, he pleaded guilty in federal court to possessing meth with the intent to sell.

Thursday, U.S. District Judge James Peterson sentenced Small to seven years in a federal prison. The judge noted Small’s extensive and serious criminal history when handing down the sentence.
