Chippewa Falls (WQOW) – This year’s Northern Wisconsin State Fair was not only about fun, it also helped honor the four people who lost their lives in the Girl Scouts crash last year.

Northwestern Bank donated $5 for every ticket sold during the Friday and Saturday grandstand concerts, with the fair donating $1 from each ticket as well.

That money was raised for the Troop 3055 Memorial Endowment Fund.

“We were delighted that the Northern Wisconsin State Fair could team with Northwestern bank to raise funds for the Troop 3055 Memorial Fund at the Community Foundation of Chippewa County,” said Jerry Jacobson, president of Northwestern Bank. “These funds will forever remind our community of the tragedy that occurred with the Girl Scouts and the income off of the funds will be used by nonprofits to emulate the good deeds that Girl Scouts do every day.”

The partners announced they were able to donate $26,000 through the fundraiser.

Officials say the gift will allow those killed in the tragic accident to be forever remembered.
