Deadly police chase case bound over for trial

St. Croix County (WQOW) – The case against a New Richmond man accused of killing someone during a police chase has been bound over for trial.

Brandon Lieffring, 37, faces 10 charges, including first degree reckless homicide in the death of Dustin Kalland.

Police said Lieffring was driving a Jeep, fleeing St. Croix County deputies, when he hit Kalland’s motorcycle in Deer Park earlier this month.

Tuesday, Judge Michael Waterman said there was enough evidence for the case to proceed.

Lieffring is back before a judge on August 14. He remains held on a $100,000 cash bond.
