Fatal crash on Highway 53 blocks traffic for more than 3 hours

Trempealeau County (WQOW) – Authorities in Trempealeau County have identified the person killed in a Whitehall crash.

They say David Schorbahn, 77, from Independence was killed when he crashed on Thursday night.


A fatal crash overnight in Trempealeau County left one dead and one with severe injuries.

It happened on Highway 53 near Dubbert Road in Whitehall.

At around 9 P.M. officials found a car in the ditch and a truck on its side in the middle of the road. The highway was closed for around 3 and a half hours. The names of those involved have not been released yet. The crash is still under investigation. Weather is said to be a factor.
