Eau Claire (WQOW) – Michelle Mayer, the woman at the center of a high-profile trial in Eau Claire County, had her latest case before a judge on Thursday.

Mayer was accused of allowing two kids to be sexually assaulted for money and drugs. That case was dismissed in January after an alleged victim became too emotional to testify.

She cannot be re-tried on those charges.

Thursday, Mayer had a hearing but was not in court. Her attorney requested a preliminary hearing for later in the month.

According to the criminal complaint, Mayer and a man were parked near a downtown auto body shop for hours at a time in June.

Police found meth in the car which the man said belonged to Mayer. She denied it was hers.

If convicted on all charges, Mayer faces a maximum penalty of nearly 10 years in prison.

Mayer’s preliminary hearing is set for July 30 at 2:30 p.m.
