Eau Claire County man going to prison for several sex crimes

Eau Claire County (WQOW) – An Eau Claire man accused in a slew of sex crimes will spend time behind bars.

According to the criminal complaint, the 15-year-old victim told police she had sex with Joshua Weichert twice when he was in charge of the “Sons of American Legion,” a program for children of the legion members.

Police also said Weichert traded nude photos of his ex-girlfriend for a break in rent, then threatened to send them to more people unless she sent him more photos.

Wednesday, Judge Michael Schumacher sentenced Weichert to three years in prison, followed by five years of extended supervision.

He must also register as a sex offender.
