Eau Claire (WQOW) – An Eau Claire 16-year-old with a passion for volunteering is hosting a thrift sale to help children in the hospital.

Anna Allen, a junior at Regis High School in Eau Claire, organized her first charity thrift sale when she was in sixth grade, with items donated by the community and friends.

Every year since, the money raised goes to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Allen found her love of philanthropy in elementary school, when she started volunteering at the St. Francis Food Pantry.

“The kids there don’t have to pay for anything, so I think the more money we give to them the easier it is on their families,” Allen said, explaining why she chose St. Jude.

Allen says St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is especially important to her because she wants to be a pediatrician.

She has raised over $16,000 with five sales and expects the number to continue going up.

Her thrift sale is donation-only, which means none of the items are priced. Instead, you pay what you’d like to give to the hospital.

The sale is happening from July 15 – 19 at 2704 North Lane in Eau Claire.
