Lake Hallie (WQOW) – Lake Hallie authorities took a suspected armed-robber into custody on Monday morning, but not before a chase that lasted more than 15 minutes.

According to Lake Hallie Police Chief Cal Smokowicz said the armed robbery was reported at 9:37 a.m. at Citizens Community Federal Bank on Commercial Boulevard in Lake Hallie.

As a detective got near the bank he saw a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle.

The detective tried to stop the vehicle but the suspect did not stop. Instead, he went faster.

Lake Hallie authorities say the chase went onto Highway 29 and then onto county highways in the town of Lafayette. Chippewa County authorities joined the chase and eventually pulled over the vehicle.

They arrested the 42-year-old man from Milwaukee. His name was not released.

Lake Hallie police could not confirm if any money was taken.
