Your help is needed to replenish dangerously-low blood supply

Chippewa Valley (WQOW) – The Red Cross needs your help. Across the country, they don’t even have a full three-day supply of blood right now.

Hospitals around the country are also running dangerously low.

On top of that, the Red Cross estimates they lose roughly 80,000 blood donors every year which is why they need new people to step up.

“We desperately need folks to come in make an appointment and give blood,” said Kyle Kriegl, executive director of the northwest Wisconsin chapter of the Red Cross. “We want to make sure that they can count on that to be there for a family member, a friend, your neighbor, someone you know at your church. We want to make sure that blood is there for them.”

It takes less than an hour to donate and every donation can save three lives.
