Three Iranian boats fail to seize British Tanker

U.S. sources say Iran unsuccessfully tried to seize a British oil tanker Wednesday night.

They say it happened as the vessel was heading into the Strait of Hormuz. Three Iranian boats ordered the tanker to change course and stop in Iranian waters but they were driven off by a Royal Navy frigate after being verbally warned.

The British government saying in a statement “We are concerned by this action and continue to urge the Iranian authorities to deescalate the situation in the region.”
