Menomonie man reaches plea deal in sexual assault case

Dunn County (WQOW) – A Menomonie man accused of giving a woman drugs and assaulting her has reached a plea deal with prosecutors.

Thursday, Timothy Carl pleaded guilty to an amended count of 4th degree sexual assault and two drug charges in exchange for a count of 2nd degree sexual assault being dropped.

A woman accused Carl of pressuring her to smoke meth then sexually assaulting her when she was intoxicated.

Thursday, Judge Rod Smeltzer sentenced Carl to four months in jail with work release as well as two years of probation.

He’s also ordered to seek drug treatment.
