Kids compete in Lego competition at Northern WI State Fair

Chippewa Falls (WQOW) – Animals and great food are not the only things getting recognition this year. The fair is also showcasing the creativity of local kids.

Chippewa Falls landmarks were made out of Legos by kids between the ages of seven and 10.

They include Olson’s Ice Cream, the old school house in Irvine Park and the winner, the Northwestern Bank built by Max Nyhus, 7.

Nyhus chose to make the bank after taking a tour with his dad and studying the building.

He told News 18 he was surprised to find out he got first place.

“We were down here to look at my lego set and then we saw the first place trophy in front of my lego set. I freaked out,” Nyhus said.

He said his Lego creation took 20 hours to complete, making sure to put details inside and out.

He plans to be back next year with something even better.
