Eau Claire (WQOW) – Student Transit is celebrating 80 years in the business, and while the look of the buses has changed, the dedication of the drivers has not.

Student Transit is a fourth-generation business and to celebrate their years of service they held an open house for the community.

Co-owner Jim Feye said the business has seen a lot of changes over the years – including bus transformations, new federal and state regulations and equipment changes.

Fey said despite the changes, their commitment to keeping students safe will never change.

“You know we are transporting the world’s most precious cargo,” Fey said. “So, when we show up at the bus stop every morning taking that child to school, then bringing them back home everyday, it’s a huge responsibility. We take a tremendous amount of pride in making sure we’re doing a good job.”

Fey said while it is their job to get students home safe, the community does a great job of understanding and supporting them when bad weather hits.
