Eau Claire (WQOW) – Organizers are looking to celebrate Eau Claire’s history of success on the ice with a new mural at Hobbs Ice Arena.

The mural called ‘Dreams Start Here’ is the newest initiative by the Eau Claire Youth Hockey and Figure Skating Organizations to grow numbers.

The mural will show the development of local athletes from their first skate, all the way to the NHL and how their dreams started at Hobbs.

“There has to be a dream that it starts with and what we’re hoping for, is it just inspires kids within the community that aren’t currently involved in the hockey program to give consideration to get involved,” said Pat Rolbiecki, a member of the Eau Claire Youth Hockey Board.” The hopes are that somebody along the line will grasp on to a potential dream.”

The Eau Claire City Council must approve the plan. The vote is scheduled for Tuesday.
