TDS honors first responders

MADISON (WKOW) — Many first responders volunteer their time to serve their community as well as work their day jobs.

Some of those selfless people were recognized for what they do on Wednesday. TDS hosted a first responders day in Madison to honor their employee who also work as volunteers.

EMTs, firefighters and other responders from Dane County agencies were on hand for the recognition. Organizers say they wanted to hold this event before 4th of July.

“Really just celebrating and thanking those who are taking the time to be first responders and really in a time of need helping others,” said Cindy Tomlinson, TDS Public Relations Manager.

There were also live demonstrations to teach CPR and the Heimlich maneuver.
