Eau Claire (WQOW) – “Eat, Live, Move” is a project that the Eau Claire Children’s Museum has partnered with Mayo Clinic Health System on and Thursday they opened the first of three steps with a “Let’s Get Cooking Lab.”

The goal is to encourage kids to eat healthy by allowing them to prepare and cook their own healthy snacks.

The program also teaches participants safety in the kitchen with hot surfaces, knives and more.

“We really like to think learning can start here at the children’s museum especially for young, young children,” said Eau Claire Children’s Museum Executive Director Michael McHorney. “You know today was a perfect case of that, children that are going into second and third grade and some of them haven’t used a knife or learned how to cut cabbage for the first time today.”

Summer weekly cooking programs at the children’s museum are already full.
