Eau Claire County (WQOW) – Because of high levels of bacteria, Coon Fork Lake beaches are closed effective immediately.

That was announced by the Eau Claire County Parks and Forest Department on Wednesday morning.

They say Lake Eau Claire, Big Falls and Lake Altoona Park beaches remain open.

The area will continue to be tested for bacteria and the department will announce when the beaches reopen.
