Motorcycle hits deer in Pierce Co., sends passenger to the hospital

Pierce County (WQOW) – A Stillwater, Minnesota woman was flown to a St. Paul hospital with injuries after the motorcycle she was on hit a deer over the weekend in Pierce County.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened Saturday at 10:19 a.m. on Highway 35 in the township of Oak Grove.

The sheriff’s office said Gwynne Thompson Witte, 59, of Stillwater was the passenger on a motorcycle when it hit a deer and went into the ditch. Both Thompson Witte and the driver were thrown from the bike.

Thompson Witte was flown to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with unknown injuries.

The driver was treated and released at the scene.
