At least 2 killed when semi crashes, explodes on I-94 in Racine County

Racine County (WQOW) – All lanes of I-41/94 are closed in Racine County, and two people are dead, according to WISN-TV.

Crews are on the scene of a semi-truck crash at County Road K in Caledonia.

Witnesses told WISN 12 News they heard what they described as an explosion.

Other witnesses said they heard what they thought was thunder and saw a mushroom cloud of smoke.

Another caller reported seeing a fireball coming from the burning truck.

Northbound traffic is being forced to exit the highway at County Highway KR on the Kenosha-Racine county border.

Southbound traffic is exiting the highway at County Road G.

511 Wisconsin described the closure as a long-duration event.

Drivers should avoid the area and expect lengthy delays.

WISN reports at least two people are dead.

Investigators have not said how many vehicles were involved in the crash, or how it may have happened.
