Volunteers paint bowls to feed the hungry

Eau Claire (WQOW) – On Tuesday, people painted bowls for Feed My People’s largest fundraiser of the year.

Every year, the organization’s Empty Bowls fundraiser brings in thousands of dollars to feed the hungry.

People pay a couple dollars and get a meal resembling what hungry families would be served – and they get to take home the bowl.

Next year’s event is in March and Tuesday people painted the pottery at The Coffee Grounds.

“It’s fun to see all the variety of people, and the different talents,” said Ruth Lundblad, Feed My People’s volunteer organizer. We’ve got a lot of talented people here in Eau Claire. We have some professional painters that come and some people that are just starting out and we get a lot of different types of bowls.”

Lundblad will be holding bowl-painting events once a month until the dinner next March. You can find details on those events here.
