RHINELANDER (WAOW) – A Tomahawk homeowner found a bear cub with a plastic jug stuck on its head this week.

It is now recovering at Wild Instincts wildlife rehab center near Rhinelander.

“A soda bottle inside the jug probably smelled pretty good and she couldn’t get it off her head,” Wild Instinct’s Mark Naniot said.

He says it is not uncommon.

“Once a month an animal arrives with something stuck on its head,” Naniot said.

He says there is a simple solution.

“You should flatten containers with yogurt, peanut butter or snacks,” Naniot advises. “Then the animals can’t stick their heads inside.”
